There is no evidence that he ever took prescription medications. The first time he ever had a cold was when he was eighteen. He never got sick with an ailment.

In his daily life, he was known to take advice from many people. and his closest friends were among them. In his later years, he turned down countless invitations to the White House because he was simply too busy.
